Description

The importance and usefulness of natural active yeasts, and particularly of lactic yeasts, in the nourishment and bio-regulation of the digestive system of horses, has been common knowledge for quite some time now. However, problems pertaining to the production, preservation and use of this product have, over the years, limited its use considerably.

However after a long process and much research from all over the world , with our Colleagues, we have succeeded in finding an effective solution to these problems by adopting a series of technological procedures . These methods have been perfected and patented during many years of research and experimentation under the guidance of qualified biotechnologists.

These yeasts have now been made available to pet owners and breeders. Galozyme® Equine Daily complementary supplement is capable of maintaining the yeast's probiotic properties unaltered and also guaranteeing its long term and stable preservability.

Functions

Galozyme® Equine Daily’s lactic yeast features enzymes that are capable of playing a fundamental part in the digestion processes of sugars especially lactose, thanks to the enzyme activity brought about by the natural occuring enzyme beta-galactosidase, absorbing nutritional principles and the formation of co-enzymatic factors.

This yeast has also proven to be excellent bio-regulators and modulators of intestinal bacterial flora (pre and probiotic function). This process allows animals to attain proper digestion and maintain an optimum level of health (with improved conversion rates), which in turn leads to better plastic yields.

Once the lactic yeast in Galozyme® Equine Daily has been introduced into the horse’s daily diet, it performs a direct and indirect function on its intestinal microbic flora. Direct action is carried out on and against coliforms and many pathogenic enterobacteria. Indirect action, on the other hand, is carried out by favouring the development of specific beneficial lactobacilli, which are already found in the animal's intestines, and by creating the intestinal microflora which is necessary to maintain the animal's intestinal microbic balance.

The particular probiotic properties lie in their capability to guarantee high replication vitality in the presence of extremely low pH (3-3.5). This is also due to their external cell walls which are high in chitin content. They are unaffected by gastric acids (bypass) and therefore reach the animal's small intestines andhHind gut effectively to continue their metabolic functions.

a mixture containing a fermentative substratum metabolized in simple molecular units
the active biomass of a lactic yeast Kluyveromyces BO399

When To Use

Use Galozyme® Equine Daily As a general digestive supplement , for horses on their time off of show or older horses that are used as a Companion animal. Horses can be exposed to many stressful events that may cause health problems. These health or stress situations can create or may include :

CHRONIC COLIC
Gastrointestinal upset (colic) can be caused by numerous things, from ingesting anything unusual, such as potentially harmful weeds, to a range of or onset of already putrifying bacterial fermentation in the intestines, possibly due to bad or mouldy feed. Although many colic cases are mild, some require surgery if the horse is to survive.
